Tokyo – The New Media Group, KK (TNMG) parent company of IPTV platform World On-Demand, has announced that it has reached a carriage deal for Vision Asia, the first community media TV channel devoted to the lives and events of Middle Asian communities living across East Asia. The new channel will include live coverage of major regional events and activities, news, religious festivals coverage, documentary stories, as well as music video and recorded shows. Kamal Adhikari, director of NewITV and producer of Vision Asia said, “People from the Middle Asia communities in Australia want to see what their counterparts are up to in the US, and their American counterparts want to see what their community is doing in Japan – and they want to see it on TV. This channel is timely, interesting, relevant and shall be marketed aggressively.” The targetted launch date is December 1 and global viewers will be able to watch the channel free of charge throughout December.
