Burbank/Cannes – Disney Channel Worldwide including Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, North America and Latin America have acquired global rights for stop-motion animated series Timmy from UK production company Aardman Animations. The preschoolers’ show will premiere in 2009 on Playhouse Disney channels and programming blocks worldwide. Timmy, a short-form series, is Aardman’s maiden TV effort for preschoolers aged 2-5. The show’s protagonist Timmy, is a young sheep based on sketches by Nick Park, and was introduced on the series Shaun the Sheep airing on Disney Channels worldwide. Each episode will follow a day in Timmy’s life as he learns about himself and young animal friends in a stylized world. The series’ creative producer and supervising director is Jackie Cockle and executive producer is Miles Bullough.
