Singapore/Hong Kong – The concluding episode of The Amazing Race Asia (TARA) 2 took top ratings in Singapore and Malaysia when it aired February 14, 2008 on AXN. Ratings from TNS Singapore and AGB NMR Malaysia indicate that AXN led other international cable channels as the top rated channel especially among the PMEB audience during the show’s 9-10pm timeslot. The channel also out-performed all terrestrial channels in Malaysia, and TARA 2 finale ratings exceeded season 1 ratings in both countries. In addition, the TARA website also saw the number of visitors more than double that of season 1, with 17million page views since October 2007. The TARA 2 finale followed the close competition between the top 3 teams from Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines. The teams travelled 51,534km across 10 countries in 24 days, with the duo from Singapore beating 9 other teams to win in the final round to take home the US$100,000 cash prize. The show also created history with the hearing-impaired Singaporean competitor winning the competition. Registration for TARA 3 closes February 25, 2008.
