Las Vegas – BT and Microsoft have announced a deal allowing BT broadband customers to access BT Vision services through the Xbox 360 games console. IPTV service BT Vision delivers its media content using the Internet rather than a satellite or cable connection. Television and on-demand content from BT Vision will become available through the Xbox 360 console, without requiring the BT Vision set-top box. Users will need a BT Broadband connection to access the service. On-demand content includes a movie library, live sport and ‘near-live’ BPL soccer matches. Dan Marks, BT Vision CEO, said, “For the first time consumers in the UK will be able to experience the advantages of an advanced TV service together with the benefits of next generation gaming.” The BT Vision service will become available to Xbox 360 users from around mid 2008, and will be available to existing and future Xbox 360 owners.
