Hong Kong – STAR will launch STAR Chinese Movies 2, a new channel offering Chinese movies from the 1970s – 1990s, in Singapore on StarHub Digital Cable from Jan 25 and in North America on KyLinTV’s IPTV platform from Feb 1. STAR Chinese Movies 2 will be airing shows from its contemporary Chinese film library that houses some 600 titles. These include martial arts films Enter the Dragon and Once Upon a Time in China; action movies Police Story and Project A; crime flicks Better Tomorrow and Bullet in the Head; comedies Royal Tramp and King of Beggar as well as romance drama An Autumn’s Tale. Jason Siu, General Manager, STAR Taiwan, who oversees STAR’s Chinese movie channel operations said, “The launch of STAR Chinese Movies 2 reflects the increasing demand for quality Chinese movies among viewers.” The STAR Chinese Movies 2 launch follows the success of STAR Chinese Movies channel in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines. STAR Chinese Movies offers shows from output deals with Hong Kong studios including Media Asia Films, Emperor Motion Pictures, JCE Movies, Universe International, Filmko, Jing’s Production and China Star. The channel recently produced and exclusively broadcast the 44th Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan.
