Nonthaburi, Thailand – Shin Satellite, commercial satellite operator and operator of the IPSTAR satellite broadband system has delivered 100,000 IPSTAR User Terminals as of the end of 2007. The IPSTAR User Terminal consists of the satellite modem and antenna to send and receive high speed data. Since the Aug 2005 launch of THAICOM-4 (IPSTAR) satellite, the company has continued to expand its IPSTAR broadband satellite services throughout Asia Pacific. Currently, IPSTAR provides full nationwide broadband satellite services in 8 countries with 11 gateways including: Australia, Cambodia, China, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, New Zealand, and Vietnam. Shin Satellite will be establishing the remaining IPSTAR gateways in Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia to cover all 14 territories in Asia-Pacific this year, and will work with its partners to expand IPSTAR services in all regional markets.
