Sydney- After protracted negotiations, Network Ten and Endemol Southern Star have confirmed the eighth season of Big Brother will air on Ten in 2008, but long-time host Gretel Killeen is being replaced by radio personalities Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O. The producers promise there will be a “tighter, re-energised format” and for the first time, hopeful Housemates can submit a video audition via the Big Brother website. Killeen said: “I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved but I now have the ‘seven year itch’ and am busting to get on with a million new things, including my first feature film which we’re shooting in the new year.” David Mott, Ten’s Chief Programming Officer, said “Gretel’s wish to concentrate on new projects gave us the opportunity to start at the top in making BB08 a completely different show.” Sandilands is one of the judges on Australian Idol and Jackie O presented Granada’s reality show Australian Princess on Ten.
