Hong Kong – Hong Kong mobile operator SmarTone-Vodafone has launched mobile TV service FoneTV to bring programs to mobile customers in high definition using HD Wide technology on QVGA streaming via SmarTone-Vodafone’s high speed HSPA network. FoneTV offers 12 channels ranging from news, finance, music, movies, animation and live traffic cams. The content is refreshed frequently with short, “snack size” programs on offer. The exclusive i-Console enables customers to switch channels with the click of a button and provides smooth transition between programs without the buffering process. The “revolutionary” split-screen i-Console also offers simultaneous TV viewing and channel selection as well as interactive features including online transaction and voting. Customers can buy related music content such as connecting tone and full tracks at the click of a button while watching music videos.
