Singapore – The Contender Asia has received a timely endorsement from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) with its inclusion into the Film in Singapore! Scheme. Initiated by the STB, the scheme aims to encourage filmmakers and TV producers to film and produce quality movies and TV programs in the Lion City. Winnie Pua, STB’s Director, Brand Management said, “The combination of Imagine OmniMedia, Mark Burnett Productions and DreamWorks SKG coupled with the proven US Contender format makes The Contender Asia a very exciting and compelling production. The series is a great way to showcase our city to audiences in Asia and internationally, via regional cable channel AXN Asia’s reach of 23 countries and various other networks.” The Contender Asia is an unscripted drama about the world’s best 16 professional Muay Thai fighters vying for the total prize pool of $US250,000.
