Cannes- China’s top film and TV regulator and the Shanghai Media Group have endorsed AMAZIA, the inaugural multi-platform exhibition and conference to be staged in Hong Kong from Nov. 17-20 2008. “AMAZIA is an exciting new event and I am convinced it will become an important platform for exchange between China’s radio, film and television industries and our colleagues around the world,” said Tian Jin, Vice Minister of China’s State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT). “The Shanghai Media Group is fully committed to working together with international partners to promote the new business worldwide,” said Li Ruigang, President of SMG. “I am sure AMAZIA will be an important platform for our exchange with converged markets in Asia.” AMAZIA is being organized by Reed MIDEM, which also stages markets including MIPCOM and MIPTV; it is a sister company of Television Asia. Event Director Franz Caduc said, “AMAZIA will be a unique opportunity for non-Asian companies to discover the vibrant Asian entertainment content industry, as well as the region’s world class new technology distribution platforms.”
