Beijing – News Corp. Chairman/CEO Rupert Murdoch tops the list of speakers at the Creative Economies: Digital and Virtual Summit, which will be staged Nov. 8-9 in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The speakers’ roster also includes Wan Gang, China’s Minister of Science and Technology; Colin Giles, President, Nokia China; Sir Howard Stringer, CEO, Sony Corp; Colin Parris, Global Vice President, Digital Convergence, IBM; and Lloyd Blankfein, Chairman/CEO Goldman Sachs Group. The summit is being organized by X|Media|Lab, the digital media business development incubator and think-tank, in association with China’s International Cultural and Creative Industry Expo (ICCIE). Among the themes to be explored are the digital creative industries as a new economic engine; political and financial strategies for supporting creative enterprise development; and building corporate brands and virtual world economies. The creation of the China Virtual Economics Zone will be announced at the event with an invitation to participate in the virtual equivalent to China’s Special Economics Zones.
