NHK’s international educational TV program contest, the Japan Prize, will start on October 23 at NHK Broadcasting Center in Tokyo, with the Awards Ceremony to take place on October 29. Established in 1965, the 2007 edition of the contest received 262 entries from 150 organizations in 56 territories worldwide. The number of Asian and African submissions registered an increase while 45 organizations will make their debuts in the event. Entries will be judged by an international panel of judges which includes educational TV professionals and college professors of education technology and cognitive psychology.
