Sydney– News Corp’s MySpace.com is partnering with Network Ten’s weekly political affairs program Meet the Press to interact with viewers on contentious issues in the lead-up to the Federal election due to be held before the end of this year. Meanwhile Yahoo!7 is counter-punching, as it were, by giving users the chance to challenge politicians to a ”political death match boxing game.” MySpace and Ten premiered a Meet the Press segment tagged Meet the People on Sept. 30 at 8am AEST, allowing the MySpace community of more than three million users to submit questions via video to politicians on a numbers of pre-determined topics including the environment, the economy, education, immigration and health. Meet the People will run throughout the 2007 election campaign in that timeslot.
