Cannes – Disney-ABC International Television (Asia Pacific) is launching is first subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) movie service, The Film Factory, on SingTel’s IPTV service mio TV. Available from October, The Film Factory channel provides over 100 library feature titles from Walt Disney Pictures, Pixar, Touchstone Pictures, and Miramax Films on-demand including Pearl Harbor, Armageddon, Enemy of the State, The English Patient and Pretty Woman. At a monthly subscription fee of $S12.84 ($US8.76), subscribers can watch the selection of 15 – 28 movies whenever and for as many times as desired in the month. In addition, Disney is offering the latest movies including Ratatouille and Wild Hogs for individual rental from mio TV’s VOD store. Greg Johnson, Vice President of Sales at Disney-ABC International Television (Asia Pacific) said, “The Film Factory is just another step in our commitment to letting as many people enjoy our content in flexible and legitimate ways.”
