Hong Kong – Celestial Pictures is bringing Shaw Brother classics in High Definition (HD) format and kung fu content on mobile to MIPCOM 2007. MIPCOM 2007 Mobile & Internet TV Awards nominee, ‘The King Boxer’ mobisodes series, will also make its debut at the market. Shaw Brother classics in HD format include ‘The Eight Diagram Pole Fighter’, ‘The Five Deadly Venoms’, ‘The Flying Guillotine’ and ‘The 36th Chamber of Shaolin’. Celestial Pictures’ mobile TV channel and other mobile products: mobisodes, video messaging, video clips, ringtones, wallpaper and games, will be another focus at MIPCOM. The mobile TV channel, ‘Kung Fu TV’, features segments of kung fu film clips from the Shaw Brothers film library. As for the mobisodes, kung fu masterpieces have been re-edited into short 2-to-3-minute episodes and enhanced with animation and music remixes. One of the mobisodes series to premiere in MIPCOM , ‘King Boxer’, has been nominated for the MIPCOM Mobile and Internet TV Awards, in the ‘Best Short Film, originally created or repurposed for mobile’ category. The awards show will take place on October 10 in Cannes during MIPCOM.
