Singapore – Visitors to Genting International’s Resorts World at Sentosa (RWS) will be able to watch TV shows being made and participate in live gameshows when it opens in 2010. This is part of an exclusive 10-year partnership between Mark Burnett International and Genting International to develop, produce and distribute reality television series and game shows for the region. A new company – Mark Burnett Productions Asia (MBPA) – will be formed under the agreement. The two partners will hold equal equity in MBPA and jointly invest up to US$20 million in the venture. The partnership covers all of Asia except Japan and the Middle East. “We expect the first production to begin in 2008. We are considering new formats, as well as existing formats such as The Apprentice, Amne$ia and Jingles,” said a RWS spokesperson.
