It looks like the ramifications of NBC Universal’s $US350 million acquisition of Sparrowhawk Holdings won’t be felt in the Asia Pacific for some time. Andrew Hanna, Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Sparrowhawk Media, says various regulatory checks and approvals have to be obtained over the coming weeks. “As with any integration, the organisation, staffing structure and locations from both the NBCU and Sparrowhawk sides will be carefully assessed,” he tells Television Asia. “This will take place consultatively over the next 3-6 months after completion of the deal.” A statement from NBC Universal was along similar lines: “After the deal closes in approximately 6-8 weeks time, NBCU and Sparrowhawk will conduct a full and collaborative review of the shape of the organisation and how Sparrowhawk operations can be integrated to form a remodelled Global Networks division that is highly skilled and equipped for growth into the future.”
