Los Angeles- The History Channel® has launched Video on Demand services in Korea via Gretech’s GOM TV and Hanaro Telecom’s Hana TV. The channel has a branded service on the Info & Entertainment offering of GOM TV, an advertising-supported broadband video player which launched in April 2006 and has 4.5 million unique viewers daily. Available in the Korean language, the line-up includes Modern Marvels, Declassified and Beyond the Da Vinci Code. The History Channel VOD service is carried in the Documentary line-up on Hana TV’s subscription VOD service. Hana TV is the first and largest IPTV service in Korea, with 470,000 subscribers. Among the series and specials available in Korean are Shootout!, Investigating History, Modern Marvels and Declassified. Both deals were concluded in association with JoongAng Broadcasting Corp. (JBC), which programs and operates The History Channel in Korea.
