Melbourne- Mobile TV and video will be the single highest premium content earner for mobile operators by 2011 in Asia Pacific, ahead of music, games and personalisation. And Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) will play a significant role in delivery of mobile TV and video services. So says Ovum analyst Nathan Burley, who notes MBMS will allow content to be multicast to an unlimited number of users at the same time in the same area without having to set aside a uni-cast channel for each user. Burley expects the first operators will deploy MBMS in 2008 but adoption will take some time due to the momentum of other dedicated broadcast networks, delays in the OMA BCAST standard for the service layer, and device availability.
