Kuala Lumpur– Malaysian-based video game developer GameBrains has signed a deal worth $US11.6 million to develop multiple titles on the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS gaming consoles. The games, all based on well-known animated intellectual properties, will be developed on both platforms simultaneously, and will be distributed worldwide. “These projects will ensure our continued presence as one of Southeast Asia’s leading game developers, and drive our continued expansion for years to come,” said Brett Bibby, CEO of GameBrains. GameBrains also announced it has secured a new facility, comprising more than 10,000 square feet, in the heart of K.L., which will be equipped to handle the company’s expansion plans and its next-generation game development needs. Established in 1998, GameBrains has shipped 14 games distributed worldwide, including Backyard Baseball (Atari), Mission Paintball 2 (Hasbro), The Mummy Returns (Vivendi-Universal), Buffy The Vampire Slayer (THQ) and NFL Blitz (Midway).
