Singapore – ESPN STAR Sports has announced broadcast rights partnerships for the first edition of the ICC World Twenty20, set for September 2007 in South Africa. Covering television and new media platforms including internet and mobile, the games will be available to millions of viewers across the world – including for the first time ever – live via television in China. In late 2006, ESPN STAR Sports’ affiliate EML was awarded the global telecast rights from the International Cricket Council (ICC) for all of its events from 2007 to 2015. In addition, ESPN STAR Sports recently launched a dedicated 24×7 cricket channel, STAR Cricket. Since then, ESPN STAR Sports and its affiliates have secured coverage for the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 cricket tournament in more than 105 countries.
