Hong Kong- Yahoo! Hong Kong is launching localized versions of US properties Fantasy Football and Flickr. In Fantasy Football, participants are arranged into leagues, each of which has to draft or acquire football players via an auction based on a real-life football league. Points are scored based on those players’ actual performances in the league. “Fantasy Football has been a phenomenon in the US market and sport game enthusiasts have been looking forward for a localized version,” says Carat Media Services Hong Kong, which notes ad banners and sponsorship will be available on the game channel. Flickr is one of the most popular and successful photo sharing sites/online communities. While Carat says info about advertising opportunities on Flickr hasn’t been announced yet, as in the US market it cites content integration as the optimum way to advertise.
