Singapore- Triple-play service provider StarHub will launch dedicated Malay entertainment channel, Sensasi (‘sensation’ in Malay) on the StarHub Digital Cable Channel 40 from 7pm on August 6, 2007. The launch follows the announcement earlier in the month that Sensasi will be packaged and developed by partner, Content Network Asia. Sensasi will carry at least 6 hours of first run shows and 18 hours of programming daily, with key programmes being aired in primetime hours of 8 – 11pm. Thematic blocks of programming dedicated to specific genres will feature, as family oriented shows on Mondays, variety on Tuesdays, period dramas and action flicks on Wednesdays, horror on Thursdays, romance and comedies on Fridays, and movies over the weekend. While the bulk of Sensasi’s offerings are acquired from TV networks and content distributors from Indonesia and Malaysia, StarHub, through Content Network Asia, is exploring partnerships with local production firms to produce content in Singapore.
