Sydney-A second season of 26 episodes of Erky Perky, an animated children’s series about two bickering bugs, is underway, a co-production between Australia’s Ambience Entertainment and Canada’s CCI Entertainment. The first series aired on Canada’s YTV and Australia’s Seven Network and was sold to Hong Kong’s ATV, Africa’s M-Net, Radio Television Brunei, France’s Ma Planete, the US’s Animania Company LLC, Middle East, Norway and Sweden. In season two, Erky and Perky are joined by a bossy flying bug Mad Margaret, her “wing-man” Cecil, beguiling niece Sajuica, veteran bug Frenzel (who’s survived everything from bug sprays to roach motels), old timer Moldy Van Oldy and Stinks, a scientifically-minded, fart-propelled bug. Erky Perky was created by David Webster, developed and produced by Canadian producers Arnie Zipursky, Kristine Klohk and Annette Frymer and Australia’s Christopher Mapp, Michael Boughen, Matthew Street and Avrill Stark. Animation is by The LaB sydney, a sister company to Ambience in Omnilab Media. Australia’s ABC has acquired the first series.
