Los Angeles – Veteran TV executive Gary Marenzi has joined Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (MGM) as Co-President of Worldwide Television, sharing overall responsibility for the division with Jim Packer. Together the two execs will oversee the studio’s television sales operations, with Marenzi focusing on the international marketplace. Packer will focus on television distribution, channels and digital media for North America. The Co-Presidents report directly to MGM Chief Operating Officer Rick Sands. Both will be based at the studio’s headquarters in Century City, California. Sands said the company was pleased to have Gary re-joining the MGM team, adding that Marenzi’s knowledge of the marketplace and his prior experience with distributing the MGM assets would bolster their position in television around the world. Since June 2006, Marenzi held the role of president of Ensequence, Inc. as well as being president of 2004-founded Marenzi & Associates which boasted Lucasfilm Ltd. and IMAX Corporation amongst its clients. Prior to founding his own firm, Marenzi was president of International Television for Paramount Pictures for seven years.
