Cannes- Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana Studios has engaged production consultants Marion Edwards and Derek Reeves to represent and manage Nelvana Studio’s international co-productions. In the non-exclusive relationship, Edwards’ and Reeves’ responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with production partners in Europe and Asia Pacific respectively, managing international co-productions and scouting for new content. Both will report to Irene Weibel, Vice President International, Corus Kids, who oversees U.S. and international development relationships and co-productions for Nelvana Studios. Edwards will manage the Canada-France co-production Willa’s Wildlife (52 x 11 min) which is based on the book An Octopus Followed Me Home. Reeves starts with The Future is Wild (26 x 30 min), a Canada-Singapore co-production based on the Animal Planet Special of the same name. The Future is Wild is co-produced with ST Electronics’ (Training & Simulation Systems) subsidiary, ST Electronics (Digital Media); the 3-D computer animated series will air in Canada on Teletoon and in the US on Discovery Kids.
