Call for India’s DDI to go HD
India - The board of India's broadcasting corporation, Prasar Bharati, has asked the national television broadcaster, Doordarshan (DDI), whether it can upgrade to HDTV before next year's Commonwealth Games, the Press Trust of India reports. TVNZ axes 90 jobs – aims to cut costs by US$13 million
TVNZ plans to achieve NZD$25 million (US$13.2 million) in cost reductions and savings from the programme budget, departmental operating budgets and from about 90 proposed redundancies. TVNZ chief executive Rick Ellis says reduced payroll costs will represent approximately 25% of the savings. Cuts to programme budgets equate to about 100 hours or approximately 3% of local content hours. BBC.com launches mobile advertising
BBC.com has announced it will be enabling advertising on its international mobile site for the first time. With this, advertisers will now be able to increase their reach to BBC consumers and opt for specific devices and regions to connect with their target audience.
