Seoul-Korea's Educational Broadcasting System (EBS) will launch the country's first English education channel on April 6 on the Skylife satellite broadcasting service. EBS English will offer local and imported programs for all ages- nearly 50% of the content for children and elementary students; 15% for English teachers; 4% for parents; and the rest for everyone. EBS is also introducing English teacher-training programs for native English speakers in Korea.
The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development expects the channel to help parents reduce costs for English education and remove the English ability gap between students from different income brackets.
