Montreal – Distraction has closed a series of deals across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and South America following content market MIPTV. Distraction sold game shows Trade Up, Ciao Darwin and Pop Club to Malaysia, Benelux (Mas Media) and Romania. Its political reality format that pits aspiring politicians against each other, The Next Great Leader, was sold to the Middle East, Ukraine, and Germany’s ZDF. Reality entertainment format The Big Experiment will be picked up by Nordisk in Scandinavia following sales to the Danish Broadcasting Corporation in Denmark, while Endemol France has acquired it to adapt for the French market. Reality format TV Diaries was bought by the Fox Network in the US to go into pilot production for a primetime slot. Ripe Digital Entertainment, Distraction’s multi-platform channel package targeting the young male demographic was to France’s ABDA. Distraction’s eco-orientated formats Eco House: The Challenge and How Clean is your Planet? were sold into Latin America and Poland respectively. Lifestyle shows Love it or Lose it and Makeover Wish were acquired by NRJ in France, while comedy format Kenny vs Spenny was renewed by the Netherlands’ BNN and Poland’s TV4.
