India’s flagship Waves Bazaar heading to MIPCOM

India’s flagship creative economy platform, WAVES Bazaar, will exhibit at MIPCOM in Cannes for the first time next week.  A one-stop on-line platform, operating year-round, WAVES Bazaar is designed to connect creators, investors and businesses across the global media and entertainment ecosystem.
When it first opened in India in May 2025 as part of landmark WAVES summit,  more than 6000 sellers and 7000 buyers joined the platform with 2500 projects – generating almost €13 million in business.  After this resounding success, Waves bazaar launched its global outreach programmes and have concluded editions at Melbourne, Toronto International Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival, Gamescom,  Tokyo Game Show and Iber Series so far. This hybrid mode of initiative has received immense response from the global media and entertainment industry. The waves bazaar global editions have become a go to place for Media and entertainment sector for investments, collaborations, policy discussions and B2B meetings.
Waves Bazaar actively supports the entire entertainment sector, working across film and television, live action and animation, gaming and esports, music and sound, VFX, post production, influencer marketing, comics and e-books, radio and podcasts, XR, VR & AR and immersive experiences and live events.
An official Government Delegation from the Consulate General of India in Marseille will attend MIPCOM to support this significant global initiative.  The team will also include Mr Niraj Kumar, Director of TV Broadcasting at the Indian Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Mr Vikram Singh Malik, Director of WAVES OTT which operates under Prasar Bharti, India’s public service broadcaster.
Niraj Kumar, comments, “We are extremely pleased to be attending MIPCOM to launch WAVES Bazaar as the bridge between India’s media and entertainment sector and global markets, particularly in Europe.   Our aim is to show India’s creative diversity across television, films, animation, gaming, music and immersive media.  Our focus here in Cannes is to develop deals, partnerships and investment by sharing India’s creative vision with companies looking to collaborate across multiple sectors.”
Vikram Singh Malik, adds, “We see WAVES bazaar as a gateway to strong partnerships. Attending MIPCOM for the first time will allow us to directly engage with creatives from around the world.  As well as helping Indian creators seeking to expand into Europe and beyond, WAVES Bazaar offers global companies  easy access to connect across all sectors, particularly in the areas of innovation, technology and India’s exceptional capabilities in VFX, AR/VR, AI and post-production services.”
