ZEE5 Global, the largest OTT platform for South Asian content, announced the world premiere of its second Bangladeshi Original WTFry on 9th January, for its audiences across 190+ countries. The Bidya Sinha Mim, Pritom Hassan, Sakib Bin Rashid, and Iresh Zaker starrer marks the OTT debut of the national award-winning director Anam Biswas.
Shot during the lockdown and within a compellingly restricted time span, WTFry narrates the story of a suicidal film star Shama, and a simple guy Bashar. The two hail from opposite ends of the city and love emerges as their contrasting worlds collide.
The heart-warming tale is available for free in Bangladesh and on subscription in other markets.
Giving a deeper insight to his OTT debut, director Anam Biswas says, “WTFry brings two contrasting worlds together following an awkward encounter between a suicidal film star Shama, living in a modern social media-driven world, and Bashar who hails from the older part of the city where people still believe in living in the moment. The encounter makes them realise the very existence of two different worlds in the same city. WTFry is an honest tale of the current eccentric times when the world happens to live more on the internet and dwell less on the grounds of reality. I am very excited about its release and I look forward to seeing how the audiences relate to it.”
