ABS-CBN Corporation, the Philippines’ leading media and entertainment company, is set to unveil two of its top fantasy dramas “La Luna Sangre” and “The Promise of Forever” in the upcoming MIPCOM in Cannes, France.
“La Luna Sangre” enters the world of werewolves and vampires and tells the story of protagonists Malia and Tristan, whose lives intertwine because of a prophecy made under the bloodmoon. Led by top Filipino actors Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Richard Gutierrez, and Angel Locsin, the primetime series is one of the most watched programs in the Philippines today, hitting an average nationwide viewership of 35.2% last September, according to multinational audience measurement provider Kantar Media.
“La Luna Sangre” is the third installment of ABS-CBN’s hit ‘Imortal’ saga following “She-Wolf: The Last Sentinel” (“Lobo”), which earned lead star Angel Locsin an International Emmy nomination for the best actress category; and “Imortal.”
“The Promise of Forever,” meanwhile, revolves around the story of Nicolas (Paulo Avelino), an immortal man who does not age and die. He tries to find a cure to his condition to be with Sophia (Ritz Azul), the woman he loves. But their journey will not be easy as Philip (Ejay Falcon), Sophia’s lover, will make sure that they do not end up together. Also putting their lives in danger is Marlon (Tonton Gutierrez), whose mission is to end Nicolas’ life to finally create the miracle drug that could heal all illnesses.
Aside from these two series, ABS-CBN also showcases its revenge drama “Wildflower,” which continues to drive strong viewership in the network’s primetime access slot.
Set in a small town where a political family rules, a girl named Lily takes on a new identity to seek vengeance for the tragedies that befell her family. Now known as Ivy Aguas, she orchestrates a plan that is made complicated by romance, and the family that will do whatever it takes to stay in power.
The show recently broke ratings records as its ‘Karma’ episode hit 35.2%, the highest in its timeslot in recent years.
ABS-CBN also presents in MIPCOM the drama “Lost Hearts,” which is a strong contender in the afternoon block with its riveting plot and tension-filled catfights between its lead characters Tessa (Beauty Gonzalez) and Marga (Bianca King). The drama tells the story of two best friends who share the same goal of making a mark in the world of fashion. Tessa dreams of becoming a fashion designer, while Marga is a beauty queen aspiring to be a high-fashion model. But their friendship ends when Marga steals Tessa’s boyfriend. Years passed and their lives once again intertwine, with Marga’s daughter Vida (Sofia Andres) growing up idolizing Tessa, who has now made a name for herself in the fashion industry.
