Asia-Pacific, Hong Kong – TVN’s new fantasy romance drama, The Bride of Habaek 2017, premiered in Asia-Pacific only on tvN, within 24 hours after premiering in Korea, and topped rating chart. The premiere episode in Asia ranked no. 1 in viewership ratings among all Korean channels at the same timeslot and also no. 1 among all Chinese, Korean and Malay language channels in Singapore while in Korea, the drama also ranked no.1 among all Pay TV channels at the same timeslot.
In episode one, audience saw Habaek (Nam Joo-hyuk), God of Water, went to the human realm to retrieve the magic stone that can prove him as an heir to the King of the Land of Gods and King of the Land of Water. On the way, Habaek and his servant Nam Soo-ri lost the coordinates of the gates to the realm of Gods and subsequently lost their power.
The duo then met So-ah (Shin Se-kyung), a psychiatrist in the human realm who considered Habaek delusional for claiming himself as the God of Water. It is also revealed that So-ah owns the piece of land where the gates to the realm of Gods happened to be located. The story continued with Habaek insisting on So-ah to serve him as his servant, while she kept on avoiding him. The interactions created much laughter in the drama.
TVNs’ new fantasy romance drama, The Bride of Habaek 2017 will air in Asia-Pacific every Tuesday and Wednesday at 9:45pm only on tvN, within 24 hours after premiering in Korea. tvN is available in Asia-Pacific countries, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar and Australia, with subtitles in English, Chinese, Bahasa Malaysia, Bahasa Indonesia and Thai.
