From this month on, Globo’s international channel will be available in one more operator in Bolivia, COMTECO. The company is regional and operates in the city of Cochabamba. With this new partnership, more than 75% of Bolivian homes with Pay-TV will have access to the channel. Currently, Globo is available in seven operators in the Andean country: TIGO, COTEL, COTAS, COSETT, COTES, DIGITAL TV CABLE and COMTECO.
Launched in 1999, Globo’s international channels are the first Brazilian channels to be broadcast to the Brazilian and Portuguese-speaking audience living abroad, in digital quality, 24 hours a day. The network currently has seven cable TV channels, having over 2.2 million subscribers worldwide.
Signals are transmitted via satellite, cable, IPTV and OTT. Programming includes real-time news, live sportscasts, telenovelas, miniseries, children and variety shows, which have won over audiences around the world over the years. The channel also shows exclusive programs dedicated to Portuguese-speaking communities living outside of the country. In the Americas, it has the Planeta Brasil and Globo Notícia Americas, in addition to the Boletim Globo Notícia Americas, which brings news flashes during programming breaks. In Portugal, in addition to its premium channel, Globo also offers a basic channel focused on dramas, featuring telenovelas, sitcoms and variety programmes. And in Africa, in Angola and Mozambique, the company has a basic channel called Globe ON with telenovelas, series and comedies that were hits around the world.
