Seoul, Korea – CJ E&M (en.cjenm.com) has announced that it will jointly produce a drama with AMUSE, a major Japanese entertainment company, with a schedule to air it in the second half of this year on various platforms.
T.O.P, Ueno Juri
Starring Choi Seung-Hyun, also known as T.O.P of Big Bang, alongside Japanese actress Ueno Juri, the drama is a large-scale project targeting global viewers, as it combines production know-hows of the two leading entertainment powerhouses.
It depicts a love story between a Korean man, named Woo-hyun and a Japanese woman, named Haruka, who overcome heartbroken memories of their respective first love while attempting to finally find new love. Choi plays Woo-Hyun who wants to believe in true love despite his heartbreaking experiences, while Ueno plays ‘Haruka’ who still has many things to address about love.
Choi Seung-Hyun is a member of K-pop boy band Big Bang and has been acknowledged as an actor through numerous dramas and films. Juri Ueno is well known for her work in television drama Nodame Cantabile and Last Friends.
“We’ve finally kicked off this collaboration project with AMUSE after about a year of planning. Even from the initial developing stage, we had Choi Seung-Hyun and Juri Ueno in mind as main characters. I’m sure many viewers around the globe will be entertained by the story,” said Lee Seung-Hoon, producer in charge of the production at CJ E&M.
