FIGHT SPORTS announces new MD for Asia Pacific

October 14, 2013 by TVA Editor

FIGHT SPORTS Network has announced that Adam Zecha, formerly Executive Vice President and Head of Sales at ESPN Star Sports/ Fox Int’l Channels Southeast Asia, has joined the company as Managing Director, Asia Pacific.

Zecha will bring almost two decades of channel/ content distribution experience to the organisation, having spent more than 15 years at ESPN, and will lead FIGHT SPORTS as it continues its commercial expansion throughout the region.

During his time at ESPN STAR Sports, Zecha spearheaded the strategy, development, launch and distribution of new services such as ESPNEWS, ESPN HD, ESPN Player, mobile ESPN live streaming in 2009–10 as well as developing partnerships across the region to secure English Premier League rights from 2007–2013.

Richard Miele, Co-CEO, CSI Sports, said “We are pleased and excited to welcome Adam on board to lead our company’s growth in Asia at a time when FIGHT SPORTS has reached new heights in popularity and mainstream demand.”

Commenting on his appointment, Adam Zecha, Managing Director, Asia Pacific, FIGHTSPORTS said: “The timing could not have been more appropriate for the launch of the FIGHT SPORTS Network in the Asia-Pacific region and the opportunity for me to join the organisation to spearhead the development of this multifaceted, multimedia business. I am thrilled to be a part of it. The future for this business which celebrates increasingly popular sports is very promising.”

Craig Miele, Co-CEO, CSI Sports said “Adam’s long history of experience in distribution, event management and strategic planning in the market is a perfect fit for our organisation and will greatly help us expand the valuable relationships we have built in the region over the last 16 years.”

CSI Sports has secured carriage deals with operators in 11 countries across Asia and Europe since launching in December 2012. The channel is already carried on eight  of the leading pay-TV platforms in Asia – most recently launching on SingTel mio TV in Singapore – with several more to be announced soon.
