Each world confederation (AFC, CAF, CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, OFC and UEFA) will be represented by the winner of its confederational trophy such as Japan, Nigeria, Uruguay, Mexico, Tahiti. Joining them are Italy and Spain (Italy qualified as runner up at the Euro finals and champions Spain qualified as reigning FIFA World Cup winner), as well as the host nation, Brazil. Matches will take place in six of the twelve stadia that will host the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
