BabyTV launches on Japan’s J:COM

Tokyo – Fox International Channels Japan (FICJ) has announced that J:COM, Japan’s largest cable operator, will be adding BabyTV’s 24/7 commercial free channel to its basic channel package.

FICJ has developed and produced an original programme called Mama Lab: 8 Ways to Help Children Grow, featuring celebrity mother Shio Chino and neuro- scientist Dr. Kisou Kubota as guests. The programme, which focus on key parenting issues, will be be split into four 30-minute parts and will be hosted by Nadia Gifford Shimadzu, a popular presenter on Japan’s national TV station NHK as well as on FOX’s Backstage Pass.

BabyTV launches with a dedicated local feed in Japan, offering both Japanese and English language options, as well as subtitles over certain programming. In addition to J:COM, BabyTV is also available on Hikari TV as well as a number of local IPTV affiliates, bringing its reach in Japan to over 3.2 million households.
