London – NBCUniversal International unveiled a realigned International leadership structure following the transfer to Comcast majority ownership on January 28. Jeff Shell takes the title of president; all appointments are effective immediately. Shell has reshaped the leadership team, based in London, in order to align NBCUniversal International in a more collaborative structure to drive accelerated International growth. He explained, “My primary goal is to form our various divisions into one cohesive International business aligned with a common set of objectives, allowing our leaders to contribute to a unified strategic vision of future growth.” Three key leadership roles have been newly created in the realignment. Kevin MacLellan is named president, international television reporting to Shell, to oversee the television business as a whole, including sales, networks, and production. Moving from LA to London, this experienced, strategic executive from Comcast International Media Group will focus on forming NBCUniversal’s television businesses into one highly functioning operation. His direct reports are Belinda Menendez and Michael Edelstein. Belinda Menendez assumes the realigned role of president, international TV distribution & Universal Networks International, relocating from LA to London and reporting to Kevin MacLellan and Rick Finkelstein. Having built a strong team and superior financial results as president, international TV distribution, her new role is broadened to capitalize on her experience, relationships and strategic skills to better align growth strategies in each market. Rowan Conn becomes chief financial officer for NBCUniversal International, reporting to Shell and Lynn Calpeter. Stepping up from his success in managing and integrating the financial operations of UPI and UPIE, Conn will play a critical role in aligning the various international divisions into one business. Roma Khanna, formerly president, Universal Networks International & Digital Initiatives, has taken the decision to leave the company to pursue other career opportunities. The leadership of the international film group remains unchanged, headed by David Kosse as president, international, Universal Pictures, whose role is to maximize revenues across Universal’s international film divisions and includes oversight of UPI, and Eddie Cunningham as president, UPIE, who oversees international home entertainment operations. Shell and the International business are supported by a central corporate team, comprised, in addition to finance under Rowan Conn, of business development, legal, HR and communications functional leads.
