Toronto – DHX Media, a leading international producer and distributor of television programming and interactive content, has signed a score of broadcast and home entertainment deals from its extensive preschool slate in Asia, as it prepares for ATF next month. In Malaysia and Brunei, the Astro platform has picked up the exclusive rights to all 52×22’ episodes of illustrative preschool series Franny’s Feet, as well as all 65×22’ episodes of reading-based preschool show Super WHY! which has also been picked up by InnoForm Media for home video in the territory, and by Media Link for home video in Thailand. Further deals in Asia include a VOD deal with Korea’s JCG for Franny’s Feet and 65 episodes of Super WHY! and with Tarra Group Indonesia for home video for 52 of Franny’s Feet and additional episodes of Cbeebies hit show Grandpa in My Pocket. Each 11′ episode of Franny’s Feet sees Franny off on a different adventure. The series airs around the world on broadcasters including: PBS (US), Family Channel and Milkshake Block on Channel Five (UK), piwi (France), France 5, ABC (Australia) and RAI Sat (Italy). Super WHY!, the award-winning, literacy-based series produced by Out of the Blue Enterprises, in conjunction with DHX Media, is a PBS KIDS and Canada’s CBC commission. Reading is power and Super WHY! helps young children learn important literacy skills through interactive storybook adventures. The critically acclaimed animated preschool program also airs around the globe on channels including: Nickelodeon UK and Australia and OKTO TV in Singapore; Korea’s EBS, KidsTalkTalk and Tooniverse; ATV in Hong Kong; Astro TVIQ for Malaysia and Indonesia, and Thailand’s True Visions.
