In September, CNN Digital held its no. 1 position in total minutes, mobile and other key metrics in the US, beating sites such as MSNBC Digital, Yahoo! News and Fox News Digital. In particular and in anticipation of the Midterm Elections, CNN.com redesigned CNNPolitics.com and The Political Ticker to provide online users the latest information from the Best Political Team. On the first full day of the redesign, September 28, CNNPolitics received 2.7 million page views, 70% above last year’s daily average. The Political Ticker received 1.6 million page views, an increase of 200% since last year (source: Omniture SiteCatalyst, October 2009 – September 2010; release date: September 28, 2010). On average, CNNPolitics.com publishes more than 200 stories a month, and The Political Ticker – the no. 1 political blog according to Nielsen – generates more than 650 posts per month, the highest among the CNN Blog Network (source: 13-month average ending September 2010, Omniture SiteCatalyst). CNN’s Blog Network continues to drive traffic to the site in September, generating 96.5 million page views. CNN’s blog on the culture of food, Eatocracy, received 1.6 million page views the week of September 26, it’s third highest week since it launched in June. During the week, Eatocracy and CNN Newsroom featured a week-long series dedicated to healthy eating, and on September 28, Eatocracy had their highest traffic day to date with 612 thousand page views.
