Hong Kong/India/Philippines/Southeast Asia – UPS and National Geographic Channel are teaming up to bring a stunning new seven-hour experience, Great Migrations, to Hong Kong, India, the Philippines and Southeast Asia in November 2010 through major on-air and online sponsorships. The global logistics leader will be the main sponsor of the Great Migrations showcase on National Geographic Channel and National Geographic Channel HD. Great Migrations’ regional premiere is slated on 7 November 2010 across HK, India and Southeast Asia, and the showcase is expected to reach an audience of over 130 million homes. Great Migrations is the largest undertaking in the National Geographic Society’s 120-year history. It was filmed over two and a half years by a National Geographic team that travelled 670,000 kilometres across 20 countries and all seven continents. Presented in high-definition (HD), the series includes four hours focused on epic animal migrations and a number of additional specials. These include an investigation into the science behind animal migration, a behind-the-scenes look at the advanced technology required to capture the series’ spectacular footage, and a visual concert that sets the Great Migrations most memorable footage to original music. Adding to the on-air sponsorship, UPS will be associated with the Great Migrations micro-site – http://natgeotv.com/asia/great-migrations across the same markets with co-branded banners and trailers. The micro-site will feature a series of Great Migrations vignettes for consumers to take a sneak view of the efforts made behind the scenes in the magnificent production.
