Singapore – MediaCorp Pte Ltd announced the appointment of Venky Krishnakumar, Rajiv Wahi and Elim Chew to its board of directors with effect from 21 July 2010. Krishnakumar, 60, has over 30 years of experience with Citibank and retired as COO/CFO Asia in 2005. He held senior advisory positions with McKinsey & Company and Barclays Bank and is currently chairman of Oracle Financial Services Software (S) Pte Ltd. Wahi, 57, has more than 30 years of experience in the food industry and held various senior positions in Cadbury plc; his last appointment being president, Cadbury Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. He currently chairs The Prince of Wales Bhumi Vardaan Foundation. Chew, 45, is founder and president, 77th Street (S) Pte Ltd, a retail outfit that has revolutionized the street wear fashion and accessories scene in Singapore. MediaCorp bade farewell to three directors – Ho Kwon Ping (outgoing Chairman), Dennis Siew and Soo Kok Leng – who stepped down at the MediaCorp Annual General Meeting on 20 July 2010, each having served six years with the Board. With Ho’s retirement, Teo Ming Kian takes over as MediaCorp Chairman with effect from 20 July 2010.
