Singapore – SingTel held a press conference to officially launch the Samsung GALAXY S, exclusive to SingTel at Marina Bay Sands. Yuen Kuan Moon, executive vice president, consumer group, SingTel and Sung-Hyun Moon, managing director, Samsung Asia were joined by Korean singing sensation Super Junior to launch the breakthrough Samsung GALAXY S. SingTel Group is the first operator in the world to introduce Samsung GALAXY S, starting with customers at SingTel, Singapore where sales started from 27 May through SingTel’s online shop. This is followed by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Optus, and regional associates, AIS, Globe and Telkomsel, who are also the first to offer the smartphone to customers in their respective countries. The Samsung GALAXY S innovative features, like the 4″ SUPER AMOLED screen which offers the brightest and clearest displays, will transform a customer’s mobile entertainment experience. The phone features the latest Android V2.1 offering access to more than 50,000 applications on Android Market Place. Users can also record and playback HD videos. The Samsung GALAXY S is available exclusively from SingTel, from $0 to $768 with contract (depending on the type of plan).
