Cannes – Turner International announced a slate of new entertainment content available for syndication to meet an increase in buyer demand from across the Asia Pacific region. Featuring a mix of Turner’s original productions and acquired series, the new line up spans multiple genres including kids, lifestyle, comedy and actuality. On tap for the first time at MIPTV and available for international syndication are series in high quality HD from Turner’s two Japanese channels, Tabi, dedicated to travel and lifestyle, and MONDO 21, a high-octane entertainment channel aimed at a male audience. Gripping real life action takes centre stage with truTV, where 150 hours of programming have been released. The actuality channel made its debut in Asia on Singapore’s StarHub earlier this month, and features a host of captivating series including Body of Evidence, The Investigator, Smoking Gun Presents and Speeders. Adult Swim, Turner’s adult-focused animation network, has a growing fan base in the region with both the comedy-focused channels in Australia and New Zealand syndicating branded blocks. Featured shows include the global youth phenomena, Robot Chicken and Metalocalypse. In addition to its original content, Turner has acquired the Asia Pacific syndication rights for the comedy animation, League of Super Evil (L.O.S.E), a series about four bumbling super villains; as well the Dubai based animation Freej, the Middle East’s first 3D animated series about four old women living in Dubai. Turner has also secured the syndication rights to Deltora Quest, the anime series based on the book by Emily Rodder and which recently premiered on Cartoon Network in Australia.
