Hong Kong – STAR CHINESE MOVIES has renewed an exclusive output deal with Hong Kong production powerhouse Media Asia. The multiple-year deal will give STAR CHINESE MOVIES exclusive pay TV and video-on-demand rights to Media Asia’s latest blockbusters and award-winning films in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau. Upcoming Media Asia titles to be aired on STAR CHINESE MOVIES include the critically-acclaimed City of Life and Death from mainland Chinese director Lu Chuan; Hong Kong auteur Johnnie To’s Vengeance and Accident; as well as the 2010 Hong Kong International Film Festival favourites Love in a Puff, Fire of Conscience and The Legend of Chen Zhen. Besides the upcoming Media Asia productions, STAR CHINESE MOVIES has also bolstered its library with a slew of the latest and the hottest titles on the market, including Chen Kuo Fu’s The Message, Ann Hui’s Night and Fog, Ho Yuhang’s At the End of Daybreak and the 2010 Teddy Chen blockbuster Bodyguards and Assassins, which has garnered 24 nominations at the Asian Film Awards and the Hong Kong Film Awards to be held later this month. In addition to its current slate of output deals with Emperor Motion Pictures and China Star, STAR CHINESE MOVIES will also premiere the first Chinese language production co-produced by Fox, Huayi and Star, Hot Summer Days.
