Hong Kong – Celestial Pictures (Celestial) has signed another exclusive five-year output deal with Media Asia Distribution Co., Ltd. (Media Asia) bringing all new films produced by Media Asia from 2010 to 2014 to CELESTIAL MOVIES. The output agreement is by far the biggest deal made between the two companies since the commencement of their partnership in 2004. Under the terms of agreement, CELESTIAL MOVIES will premiere Media Asia’s entire theatrical production in the next five years on its service in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia, covering all pay-TV rights from cable, satellite to on-demand, internet and mobile. Media Asia is one of the leading Chinese language film studios in Hong Kong. Since its establishment, the company had produced exceptional feature films that gained international acclaim and won multiple accolades around the globe, including City of Life and Death, The Warlords, The Banquet, Exiled, Initial D, and the Infernal Affairs trilogy. Some of Media Asia’s upcoming productions to be showcased on CELESTIAL MOVIES include The Legend of Chen Zhen (directed by Andrew Lau, starring Donnie Yen and Shu Qi), Fire of Conscience (directed Dante Lam, starring Leon Lai and Richie Jen) and Reign of Assassins (produced by John Woo, starring Michelle Yeoh). Ross Pollack, chief executive officer of Celestial Pictures said, “We look forward to extending our alliance with more producers of Asian hit movies as we expand CELESTIAL MOVIES across the region and beyond.”
