Traffic Sports, the leading football agency in Latin America for 25 years, has appointed FSA Media, Australia to handle all media rights sales in Asia/ Pacific for the 43rd edition of the 2011 Copa América. Copa América is the main international football tournament for national teams in South America, organised by CONMEBOL, South America’s football governing body. The South American Championships, which were at the origin of Copa América, are the oldest contest in the world among National Teams, played since 1916 and comparable in status only to the UEFA EURO 2008/ 2012 championships. The tournament will be held in Argentina from 3 to 24 July 2011. The defending champion is Brazil. Participating Teams include the 10 Football Associations of South America: Argentina (host), Brazil (holder), Chile, Colombia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia and Peru. Mexico and Japan (for the second time since 1999) have also been invited to participate in the event.
