Doha – Phil Lawrie has stepped down as director global distribution at Al Jazeera Network, to explore new challenges. In an e-mail to friends and colleagues, he announced his resignation, describing his time at Al Jazeera as “a fascinating, challenging and immensely rewarding few years.” He said, “I’ve had the honour and privilege of leading a fantastic team, spread across three continents and four time zones, and together we have enjoyed a great many highs, lows and a not insignificant number of strategic breakthroughs and successes. The time has now come for me to explore new challenges.”
