Singapore – Philip Pang has been appointed director, finance and commercial operations, Disney Channels Southeast Asia, where he is responsible for the commercial strategies, business operations and financial planning for the pay-TV television business in that region. Based in Singapore, Pang reports to Laura E. Wendt, managing director and vice president, Disney Channels Southeast Asia. Besides reporting to Wendt, Pang will also work closely with Anna Woo, vice president of Finance and Business Operations for Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong as well as the TV Finance team in Burbank, USA. Pang takes over the role from Raju Venkataraman who was promoted to vice president of channel distribution in the Asia Pacific. Pang’s role looks after commercial operations, financial management and planning for Disney Channels and Playhouse Disney channels and other wholly owned channels on cable and satellite platforms in the region. He will oversee the development and financial management of new business initiatives that support the Company’s strategic goals. Pang spent 13 years in HBO Asia where he was chief financial officer overseeing financial operations, strategic planning and business development. Most previously, he was chief financial officer of Zugo Photonic, a Singapore-based distributor of laser and photonics equipment and applications.
